5 minute Friday:: gift

Writing for 5 minutes!  Eeekkkk!  A bit of fear and panic!  Then I remembered the weekly 3 minute probes that I used to ake students write, and I said, “I have to do this!”  I am participating in Five Minute Friday.  Check out Kate Motaung’s blog at http://www.katemotaung.com.   Every Friday she posts a word and bloggers link their five minutes timed writings for the word.

                           A Gift

A baby is a gift of love.

My grandson is a gift.

A gift to his parents

They talk,

They play,

They dance,

They laugh.

A gift to me, a grandma

Sharing a weekly photo,

Sharing a sleeping little Hawkeye.

Sharing his beautiful smiling face.

A gift to my mom

The tenth great-grandchild

A little baby who will soon join cousins

In running, playing, and all sorts of mischief.

Our gift – a baby,

born on Mother’s Day,

Our gift of love, to cherish, to spoil and to help him grow.

What gift are you celebrating?
