#SOL22: Two Sides

Be Patient

Hurry Up!

#OneLittleWord

So much to do!

Savor the season!

Check the lists!

Making gifts . . .

Off to the store?

Delivery to the Door?

Service the car.

Prepare to pack.

How to plan?

Travel by car and plane.

Travel alone and with family.

Use time wisely.

Keep checking the lists.

How do you handle holiday stress? Travel stress? Holiday travel stress? Do you slow down and savor every single second? Or do you speed up and enjoy as much as possible by packing every day full of events? Are there other options?

  1. It certainly is a season of lists!

    1. Lists of lists are my favorite. Sometimes it helps me see the incremental progress.

  2. A perfect back and forth! And then the perfect image at the end.
Thanks for the chuckle! I do hope your OLW mantra provides you with some calm.
    Hang in there!

    1. Sally,
I debated about adding in adult vs. child but I realized that BOTH could be on either side so it’s more complex!
      Happy Holiday prep to you!

  3. The end of this is absolutely perfect…the lists for the poem structure, not to mention the sentiment throughout! (I also thought of the song, “He’s making a list, checking it twice…”)

    1. Thanks, Trish. I had an idea in mind over the weekend but it was gone by the time I started writing. This was fun!

  4. If ever there was a time of the year to stop and take a breath, this is it. The ending sums it up nicely.

    1. Calm moments, flurries of activities, rinse and repeat … effective for working through the list!

  5. I pray for a patient calmness everyday. I am a list person, but they can drive me crazy during the busy times.

    1. Heather, It’s the lists the other folks have for me that totally drive me up a tree. I can manage my own time fairly well but somedays other folks like to manage my time as well.

  6. I try to ignore it, and then I read a post from a long distance colleague and I get caught up in the oh man, what’s my OLW, and oh man, what am I packing, and OH MAN, do I have everything I need being delivered. Thanks, Fran!

    1. Melanie, chill. It’s the 13th. Plenty of time! LOL

  7. Be patient/hurry up … seems like the perfect way to sum up this season!

    1. It would be soooo nice to slow everything down but then I’m sure I would still miss something! The wonder, the joy …. outpaces the stressors!

  8. This captures this time of year so well! My break started a few hours ago and there are still lots of lists to check.

    1. Enjoy your break. Happy Hoidays!
